Fgura vs Żabbar
Two busy south-eastern towns side by side, one modern and dense, the other larger and built around a parish core.
The short answer
Fgura or Żabbar?
Żabbar is the busier resale market. It completes more sales than Fgura and has clearly more promise of sale agreements, and its share of Malta’s rent contracts is slightly larger. Fgura, though, approved clearly more new homes in the latest quarter. For family houses and a big local buyer base, Żabbar; for modern apartments and new stock, Fgura.
Both are domestic, busy markets, so the choice rests on what a buyer wants to own. Żabbar’s stock leans to terraced houses and maisonettes, with the Cottonera regeneration close by. Fgura is almost all modern apartments. Fgura’s larger new-build pipeline gives more choice but more competition for resale.
