Nadur vs Qala
Two eastern Gozo villages of farmhouses and outlook, Nadur the larger and Qala the quieter, a short drive apart.
The short answer
Nadur or Qala?
Nadur is the larger market, completing more sales than Qala and holding a slightly bigger share of Malta’s rent contracts. The gap narrows elsewhere: promise of sale agreements are close, and the two villages are approving almost the same number of new homes. Neither is a deep rental market, and both are largely driven by second homes.
The difference is setting. Nadur is a substantial village on high ground with Ramla and San Blas below it. Qala is smaller and sits at the island’s eastern tip, looking across to Comino, and closer to the ferry at Mġarr. Buyers in both are after land and outlook more than convenience.
